  • 5:00 AM: Meet up at a designated point in Nairobi (e.g., Bata Shop, Hilton Hotel CBD).

  • 5:15 AM: Depart from Nairobi. Enjoy a scenic drive through the South Rift Valley, with a brief stop for breakfast (on your own) en route.

  • 8:00 AM: Arrive at the base of Mt. Olesekut near Ole Sayeti. Briefing and warm-up session. Engage with local Maasai guides who will lead the hike.

  • 8:30 AM: Begin the ascent of Mt. Olesekut. The hike involves traversing plains, gentle uphill slopes, and winding trails up onto the Oloroka ridges. The summit offers magnificent views. The hike typically takes 5-6 hours to complete.

The price for the Mt. Olesekut day hike organized by Maggie Wild Safaris is KSh 3600 per person. This fee covers comfortable round-trip transport from Nairobi, entry/conservancy fees, and professional local guiding services.

Mt. Olesekut is considered a moderately challenging hike. While it is suitable for beginners with a reasonable level of fitness, the terrain can be rocky and involve some steep sections. We recommend regular exercise prior to the hike to ensure an enjoyable experience.
